Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a two-year chemical technology course is preferred or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in quality control or a laboratory setting is preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:00 Hrs
  • The candidates should be willing and able to perform work that includes manual lifting, carrying, and moving tools and equipment
  • The candidates should be able to perform intermittent walking and standing
  • The candidates should be able to perform regular bending

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of ASTM, CSA, and API test methods and standards
  • The candidates should have quality indoctrination and an understanding of the cement manufacturing process
  • The candidates should have experience in the operation, maintenance, and calibration of chemical and physical testing equipment
  • The candidates should have training in various sample preparation methods
  • The candidates should have SAP training
  • The candidates should have TIS/LIMS training
  • The candidates should have XRF training, including basic use and operation, and troubleshooting
  • The candidates should have XRD training, including basic use and operation, and troubleshooting
  • The candidates should have AODocs (Document Control) training

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure chemical and physical testing of cements are conducted as per API, ASTM, and CSA test methods and standards
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the reliability and calibration of chemical testing equipment as required, as well as being responsible for equipment condition and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the reliability and calibration of physical testing equipment, as well as being responsible for equipment condition and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the compiling, reporting, and accuracy of the physical and/or chemical testing quality assurance data
  • The candidates should be able to handle work order and requisition entry as required
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and store samples for retention
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that samples for testing are batched out according to API, ASTM, and CSA methods
  • The candidates should be able to manage monthly LQTS (internal) compliance, as well as bi-annual C114 certification and compliance, including record keeping
