Transportation information: Vehicle supplied by employer, willing to travel regularly, and valid driver’s licence
Type of materials:Â Composite materials, copper and copper alloys, non-ferrous materials, non-metallic materials, and steel, iron, and heavy metals
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Welding techniques:Â Resistance, spot or seam, oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), fusion welds, tubular, and brazing and soldering
Area of specialization:Â Custom fabrication, machinery or equipment repair, and cast iron and other metals
Equipment and machinery experience:Â Arc welding machine, brazing machine, and gas welding machine
Own tools/equipment:Â Tools, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, and gloves
Credentials:Â First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Fall Arrest Protection Training Course, and forklift operator certification
Security and safety:Â Bondable, criminal record check, and drug test

- The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding duties

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications
- The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
- The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- The candidates should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
- The candidates should be able to operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
- The candidates should be able to determine the weldability of materials
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
- The candidates should be able to operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- The candidates should be able to maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment
