Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours, 09:00 to 17:00
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own vehicle, and Driver’s abstract
Supervision: 1 to 2 people, 3-4 people, 5-10 people, 11-15 people, and 16-20 people
Target audience: Adolescents, Aboriginal groups, and First Nations students
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Area of specialization:Â Aboriginal or First Nations education
Social work specialization:Â Community development, Education and training, Health, Personal adjustment, and Socio-economic needs or conditions
Credentials:Â Mental health first aid Certificate, Standard First Aid Certificate, and Safe Food Handling certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal record check and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and handle tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to pay attention to detail, manage a large workload, and handle a large caseload
- The candidates should be able to adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be focused on the client, dependable and efficient in interpersonal skills
- The candidates should be excellent in both oral and written communication, flexible and aware of interpersonal dynamics
- The candidates should be good at judgment, organized and reliable

Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to interview clients individually, in families, or in groups, to assess their situation and problems to determine the types of services required, supervise other social workers, paid para-professional staff, student trainees and volunteers, and perform administrative tasks
- The candidates should be able to plan programs of assistance for clients, refer clients to agencies that provide financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment and other services, and provide public education and consultation regarding counselling services, issues and methods
- The candidates should be able to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team of professionals working with a client group, advocate on client’s behalf in courts or at hearings, and conduct social research
- The candidates should be able to deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, provide consultation services to government and other organizations, and evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient’s outcomes
- The candidates should be able to develop prevention and intervention programs to meet community needs, teach students through lectures, discussions, audio-visual presentations and laboratory, shop and field studies, and answer inquiries from students
