Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to lift, move IT equipment, boxes up to 40 lbs and vary their work schedule based on operational requirements, including overtime
  • The candidates should have the ability to prioritize, plan, organize, and work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a related discipline, and an equivalent combination of education and experience and considerable experience providing IT technical support for desktop software, web applications, hardware, mobile wireless devices, network connections, printers, servers, large-format plotters, and multi-function devices
  • The candidates should have experience in the installation and configuration of Divisional applications such as Bentley Products, FME, ArcGIS, and Corporate applications like Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Oracle/SQL connectivity
  • The candidates should have experience in supporting Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) platforms such as Bentley or AutoCAD
  • The candidates should have experience supporting large enterprise-scale solutions, with a proven record of troubleshooting issues, logging problems with solution vendors, and advancing cases to resolution with escalated attention
  • The candidates should have knowledge in Document Management Systems such as Bentley ProjectWise
  • The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to provide documentation and reports on problems, and deal effectively with all levels of management and staff
  • The candidates should possess and be able to maintain a valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and access to a properly insured vehicle and knowledge of current and emerging technology, their application within the business, and the ability to apply this knowledge in the development and support of in-house developed applications
  • The candidates should have general knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, customer service skills working with clients or staff to address service inquiries, requests, and complaints
  • The candidates should have strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to schedule workload and set priorities, lead the team in identifying and resolving issues and problems and provide expertise in assessment, analysis, evaluation of alternatives, and resolution of issues and problems
  • The candidates should be able to liaise and coordinate with internal and external groups on the resolution of problems, recommend preventative solutions to mitigate recurrence of similar problems and develop and recommend improvements to the current environment, policies, and processes and acquire and dispose of hardware and software
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an inventory of applications and software on computers for sustainment purposes and configure network and server-related hardware and software
  • The candidates should be able to monitor and maintain access and security of data and infrastructure and configure server hardware and software
  • The candidates should be able to advise desktop configuration management teams on hardware and software technologies and deployment alternatives and advise network management teams on hardware and software technologies, connectivity, and backup and recovery alternatives
  • The candidates should be able to advise security management and control teams on security-related technologies and access control alternatives and perform capacity planning
  • The candidates should be able to review the work of staff and provide training to them and prepare, direct, and recommend for approval training material and documentation for use by clients and staff
  • The candidates should be able to provide training to clients in the use of technology, prepare statistics and draft summary reports and support the centralized management of access control
  • The candidates should be able to install, roll out application, hardware, and software and take inventory of such assets, design and create databases, attend meetings and travel to off-site locations
