Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical practice setting
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
- The candidates should possess a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- The candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of recent clinical experience, including providing patient teaching and health information to a diverse population
- The candidates should demonstrate competency with computer applications for conducting computer searches and clinical documentation on web-based programs in a supported environment
- The candidates should have a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM and intermediate computer skills
- The candidates should have experience working in a call centre
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to be responsible for providing health information to callers over the telephone throughout Alberta, working collaboratively with members of a multidisciplinary team
- The candidates should be able to work with Health Link, which provides care and trusted advice, connecting people to the right care, by the right provider, at the right time and place
- The candidates should be able to use clinical software and a variety of information databases to provide health information to educate callers about their health concerns
- The candidates should be able to utilize their strong customer focus, clinical nursing, and problem-solving skills to provide high-quality and accurate health information in a contact centre environment
