Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 2 – 3 years experience in providing financial advice to clients and achieving sales results through advice-based conversations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be flexible to work banking centre hours, including evenings and weekends
  • The candidates should be flexible to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance to deliver a great client experience

Additionally, they should have obtained the Designated Financial Services Advisor Designation (DFSA) through the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced Banking Centre environment as a member of the Personal and Business Banking team
  • The candidates should be able to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives through their role as an Associate Financial Advisor
  • The candidates should be able to recommend simple, personalized solutions to meet the needs of personal and small business clients
  • The candidates should be able to manage a portfolio of mortgage clients, either individually or as part of a team, with a focus on deepening client relationships
  • The candidates should be able to engage in client meetings to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan
  • The candidates should be able to ensure clients’ investment, financial, and credit-related needs are met by providing a comprehensive retail banking offer or making a formal introduction to appropriate Imperial Service and Business Banking colleagues
  • The candidates should be able to engage in marketing and outreach activities to demonstrate value to clients and their communities, thus deepening existing relationships and growing their network
  • The candidates should be able to network with clients’ families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer them to appropriate partners for business development
  • The candidates should be able to call both existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue
  • The candidates should be able to participate in community and banking center events such as business development events, client acknowledgment programs, and client appreciation day to enhance CIBC presence and gain market share
  • The candidates should be able to become technology experts and share their knowledge by introducing clients to mobile banking applications, assisting them in better managing their banking needs
