Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to lift and move heavy supplies and equipment occasionally
  • The candidates should be capable of dealing with complaints and negative comments, albeit rarely
  • The candidates should exert normal visual and auditory effort
  • The candidates should be prepared to work in a bar and lounge area
  • The candidates should be willing to work irregular hours
  • The candidates must be 19 years of age

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner
  • The candidates should complete forms accurately
  • The candidates should participate in the Responsible Beverage Service Program (10 hours)
  • The candidates should obtain criminal record clearance

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to operate a lounge bar and effectively mix and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as wine, beer, and mixed drinks, to patrons
  • The candidate should be able to ensure compliance with legal regulations by checking identification to verify the age of patrons and ensuring that minors are not served alcoholic beverages
  • The candidate should be able to set up and dismantle the bar station and lounge area, including arranging equipment, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness to provide a pleasant environment for patrons
  • The candidate should be able to manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, replenishing supplies as needed, and completing stock sheets to track inventory accurately
  • The candidate should be able to handle cash transactions, including accepting payments from patrons, making change, and replenishing the cash float as required. They should also be able to complete bank deposit slips to ensure accurate financial records
