Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems and business administration
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of experience managing IT systems, processes, and vendors
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to develop and lead major functional areas within the university
- The candidates should have proven ability to communicate effectively with senior management, peers, staff, and external stakeholders
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of leadership practices in people management, strategic planning, risk management, policy development, financial management, and stakeholder relationship management
- The candidates should be aware of current issues and trends at Carleton and in the higher education sector related to technology and information management
- The candidates should be familiar with contemporary best practices in information management, technology programs, and service delivery models
- The candidates should have knowledge of IT applications, infrastructure, security, and their integration and a solid understanding of project management principles
- The candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, process automation (RPA), and Power BI, with the ability to leverage them to enhance Digital Experience (DEX)
- The candidates should be aware of ways to measure DEX and familiar with IT frameworks such as ITIL, including knowledge of incident, change, service request, and major-incident management
- The candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, focusing on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement and a passion for innovation, collaboration, and customer satisfaction
- The candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in IT service delivery, with at least 3 years leading digital workplace teams or projects and 5+ years of direct managerial experience in mentoring and developing IT staff
- The candidates should have experience in strategic technology planning and policy development and experience managing a portfolio of digital workplace applications
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to shape and execute Carleton University’s digital workplace strategy, leveraging Microsoft 365 tools, process automation (RPA), and Power BI capabilities
- The candidates should be able to lead efforts in delivering applications and services that enhance the Digital Employee Experience (DEX)
- The candidates should be able to oversee digital workplace functions, including operations, governance, and enablement, ensuring alignment with business outcomes and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
- The candidates should be able to foster a culture of digital dexterity, promoting the use of digital tools and resources across the university
