Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders based in Fort McMurray, AB, is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Boilermaker. Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders comprises of oilsands owners, heavy industrial maintenance contractors, and labour providers. Our goal is to ensure that the owner stakeholder’s turnarounds and ongoing maintenance projects are fully staffed with skilled, qualified, experienced, professional tradespeople. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us.  The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $44.85 hourly for 40 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Fort McMurray, AB
Shifts: Day, Overtime, 08:00 to 18:00
Work Setting: Maintenance, repair and oil refinery and petrochemical plant
Security and safety: Basic security clearance required and drug test required
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have steel-toed safety boots

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Boilermaker Trade Certification, Boilermaker Red Seal Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate and Driver’s License
Welding techniques: Gas Tungsten ARC (GMAW) (TIG)
Area of specialization: Boiler installation Boiler tube installation, Precipitators, Pressure vessels, Tanks and Stacks, towers and furnaces

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • The candidate should be able to maintain tight deadlines and need to work if overtime required
  • The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidate should be physically strong
  • The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidate should be able for bending, crouching, kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have specialization on Dust collecting system, precipitators, pressure vessels, tanks, stacks, towers and furnaces

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to instruct apprentices
  • The candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
  • The candidate should be able plan sequence of operation
  • The candidate should able to fit and weld parts together
  • The candidate should able to erect and install boilers and heavy-metal products according to specifications
  • The candidate should able to repair and maintain boilers and heavy-metal products
  • The candidate should able to perform informal inspections of completed welds
