Salary: $16.93 to $19.89 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: 2616 18 St NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7R1, Canada
Shifts: Day, 08:30 to 16:00
Transportation information: own vehicle, vehicle supplied by employer, valid driver’s licence, and public transportation is available
Work setting: Urban area, community agency, various locations, recreational facility/institution, swimming, and fitness centre
Supervision: 3-4 people
Target audience: persons with learning disabilities, persons with physical disabilities, persons with a disability
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, child welfare check, driving record check (abstract), vulnerable sector check
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and demonstrate interpersonal awareness
- The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills, exercise good judgment, and have a focus on clients
- The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, show initiative, and be organized
- The candidates should be team players, demonstrate dependability, and be reliable
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess clients’ skill strengths and development needs and lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs
- The candidates should be able to assist clients/guests with special needs and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
- The candidates should be able to coordinate recreation activities, assist with the coordination of recreational events, and monitor recreational activities to ensure safety
