Schedule: Full-Time
Hours of Work: up to 24 hours / week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience providing front line customer service

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in handling cash and related administrative duties
  • The candidates should demonstrate a sound customer-service focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should exhibit demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to effectively multi-task and handle changing priorities
  • The candidates should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The candidates should have proficient computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word)
  • The candidates should have previous experience using booking and registration software (i.e., CLASS or ActiveNet) would be considered an asset
  • The candidates should have a satisfactory police vulnerable sector check will be required as a condition of hire

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure an exceptional customer experience for City of Waterloo facility guests
  • The candidates should be able to address general inquiries from members of the public and help to address any issues or concerns
  • The candidates should be able to provide guests of our facilities with information about recreational programs, registration, and revenue collection for various programs
  • The candidates should be able to answer telephones and direct customers as required
  • The candidates should be able to follow all daily cash handling procedures, including reporting, while ensuring accuracy and thoroughness
  • The candidates should be able to reconcile and balance revenues, facility bookings, admissions, and rentals
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and clean working environment for coworkers and the general public, including identifying and reporting any safety hazards or damage to the facility or equipment
  • The candidates should be able to communicate and interact effectively with other facility staff and coworkers
  • The candidates should be able to perform opening and closing duties and other administrative tasks as required
