Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed a Secondary School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as a laborer and equipment operator, with demonstrated commitment to safety
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to thrive in an environment of change and demonstrate creativity and flexibility
- The candidates should be willing to work a rotation of 7 days on, 7 days off (days only)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have GED, completed slinging and rigging training and completed a mechanical-related program in a post-secondary institution or acquired qualifications of a trade by progressively advancing through an apprenticeship program
- The candidates should possess mechanical aptitude with sound knowledge of a variety of diesel pump sets, pipe fitting, and HDPE piping
- The candidates should have solid communication skills and the ability to understand and follow directions accurately and safely
- The candidates should have knowledge of WHMIS, including familiarity with chemical products, use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets applications
- The candidates should possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and a clear driver’s abstract and experience operating telehandlers, skid steers, and similar equipment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure all tasks are completed in a safe, environmentally conscious manner and comply with all company policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to meet requirements of the site water management key performance indicators, including but not limited to pumping, HDPE pipe fusing and installation, refueling, and winterization of plant and equipment
- The candidates should be able to operate telehandlers, skid steers, light towers, and diesel pump sets efficiently and safely
- The candidates should be able to participate in safety or toolbox meetings and contribute to discussions on improving safety practices
- The candidates should be able to maintain a clean work area and equipment, performing work in a safe and orderly manner
- The candidates should be able to take on other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
