Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of completed and hold active Transport Canada exams FDOPS and FDMETS
Experience: Candidates should have experience with conflict resolution and problem-solving
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be at least 21 years of age, good decision-making ability in high-pressure situations and be capable of working under pressure without close supervision
- The candidates should have strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills, demonstrate the ability to keep and monitor records effectively
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be qualified in accordance with CAR 705 and CASS 725, hold a radiotelephone operator’s restricted certificate, a current valid passport
- The candidates should have previous airline operational experience, work shifts, including midnights, good verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with PC (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- The candidates should have post-secondary education and meet Air Canada medical standards, as the role involves safety-critical work, and will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test
- The candidates should be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- The candidates should be eligible to work in the country of interest at the time of any employment offer, with the responsibility of securing any required work permits, visas, or other authorizations
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop, review, authorize, issue, and revise Operational Flight Plans on a co-authority basis with the Pilot-in-Command
- The candidates should be able to perform Operational Flight Watch and assess changes in operational and meteorological conditions that may affect flight safety, communicating necessary updates to the Pilot-in-Command
- The candidates should be able to analyze operational conditions and identify opportunities or constraints related to weather, facilities, Air Traffic Control, and aircraft performance, communicate Operational Flight Plan requirements to Air Traffic Control Services
- The candidates should be able to ensure aircraft dispatch complies with the Aircraft Operating Manual, Minimum Equipment List, Flight Operations/Flight Dispatch Manual, and governing regulations
- The candidates should be able to provide the Pilot-in-Command with all necessary en route information for the safe conduct of the flight
- The candidates should be able to maintain thorough knowledge of airports, runways, airways, and navigational aids relevant to assigned workload areas
- The candidates should be able to stay updated on applicable company publications, including the Flight Dispatch Manual, Flight Operations Manual, and Jeppesen Enroute and Airport Charts
- The candidates should be able to interpret and maintain current flight and field condition reports to provide flight crews with the latest operational information
- The candidates should be able to communicate effectively with the Chief Duty Dispatcher and System Operations Control to ensure seamless information flow regarding operational concerns
- The candidates should be able to report incidents and operational categories to the Chief Duty Dispatcher as per the Flight Dispatch Manual and Emergency Response Manual
- The candidates should be able to perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures while prioritizing personal, coworker, and customer safety
