Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in a mine or other heavy industry environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a good work ethic and a strong attitude towards safety
  • The candidates should be aware that the role is located at the Magino Mine, approximately 88 kilometres northeast of Wawa, Ontario, Canada
  • The candidates should be willing to work a rotation of 7 days on / 7 days off or 14 days on / 14 days off, with 12-hour days
  • The candidates should understand that Magino promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has a zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be familiar with drills and have previous experience working near earth-moving equipment
  • The candidates should have experience with Sandvik drills, particularly models DI650i and DR410i, and be team players with solid communication skills
  • The candidates should hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle and first aid and other relevant certifications

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to operate a variety of drills and related equipment in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner
  • The candidates should be able to ensure all machinery is safe, appropriately document, and report any faults or potential hazards
  • The candidates should be able to strictly adhere to safety in all tasks and interactions, including pre-start-up, start-up, and shut-down checks
  • The candidates should be able to follow standard operating procedures and monitor all equipment and gauges for irregularities
  • The candidates should be able to take appropriate corrective action to prevent any negative impact on the environment or quality and report non-compliance
