Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be responsible individuals who can work independently, strong communication skills to deal effectively with staff and the public
  • The candidates should possess exceptional customer service skills, be motivated individuals with a passion and knowledge in program activities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have knowledge of Town of Oakville drop-in programs, hold Emergency First Aid with AED, CPR B, or Standard First Aid AED/CPR C certification
  • The candidates should be able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment if they are new hires or have not performed in this position previously

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to arrive at the program site in time to properly prepare for the day’s program and start and end the program according to schedule, ensure the continuing safety of all participants while at the program
  • The candidates should be able to maintain accurate attendance records and proof of payment from each program participant, create and enforce a positive and respectful environment for those participating
  • The candidates should be able to assist with daily set up and clean up of the program site, provide exceptional customer service, including assistance for any customers that have questions regarding Town of Oakville programs
  • The candidates should be able to apply safety precautions and procedures in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Town of Oakville policies
  • The candidates should be able to notify the supervisor of any problems and recommendations regarding participants which may affect the quality of the program
  • The candidates should be able to attend and participate in all staff training sessions and perform other duties
