Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of a Grade 12 education
Experience: Candidates should have at least three months of related arena experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to deal courteously, tactfully, and effectively with the public
- The candidates should be able to understand and execute oral and written instructions, the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- The candidates should be able to work with minimal supervision and the physical ability to perform the assigned duties
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess be able to obtain, SPRA Level 1 Arena Certificate or equivalent, possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License
- The candidates should have a current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record, obtain, a valid first aid and CPR certificate
- The candidates should have knowledge of the operation of equipment used for ice maintenance, such as ice resurfacer and ice edger
- The candidates should have knowledge of the materials, practices, and equipment used in cleaning and maintaining a public facility and work area
- The candidates should be able to provide an acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to maintain the indoor arena facility to predetermined standards for cleaning, safety, and programming, including tasks such as cleaning dressing rooms, washing sinks and toilets, and snow clearing
- The candidates should be able to operate required equipment such as ice resurfacer, ice edger, and floor cleaner
- The candidates should be able to respond to requests from staff, user groups, and the public in the facility to ensure that program needs are being met
- The candidates should be able to report any facility issues to the appropriate supervisor and perform other related duties
