Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed an accredited practical nurse education program
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of one year of Long Term Care nursing experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • The candidates should demonstrate critical thinking, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills, excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • The candidates should be competent in relevant technical nursing skills and willing to learn new skills

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • The candidates should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should actively integrate Patient and Family Centered Care principles into practice, experience with Connect Care and general computer skills
