Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience as a supervisor or manager in a busy resort or hotel environment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be highly adaptable and flexible, strong organizational skills, time management, and keen attention to detail
  • The candidates should demonstrate patience, nurturing, and an understanding of personnel management
  • The candidates should be available to work weekends and holidays, be capable of lifting 30 pounds and standing for more than eight hours

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a background in housekeeping and experience training a large number of people
  • The candidates should possess strong public relations skills and the ability to think quickly on their feet
  • The candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, with experience working with a property management system

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and professional conduct, oversee all in-unit and facility common area cleaning to ensure quality and efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to train, develop, recognize, and discipline housekeeping staff to maintain performance standards
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the recruitment process as needed to support staffing requirements, schedule staff effectively based on occupancy levels, group arrivals/departures, and special events while maintaining cost efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to purchase, reorder, and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory, conduct inspections of units, carts, and storerooms to ensure completion of work and adherence to cleanliness standards
  • The candidates should be able to provide courteous and prompt customer service by addressing inquiries, requests, and complaints efficiently ensure proper maintenance and functionality of housekeeping equipment
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with Front Desk, Rental Owner Services, Maintenance, Sales, and Reservations to optimize service delivery
  • The candidates should be able to create and maintain the housekeeping budget and business plan to align with financial objectives
  • The candidates should be able to review purchase orders, requisitions, and P&L statements monthly to verify expenses and maintain budget control, enforce employee appearance and conduct standards while upholding the resort’s core values
  • The candidates should be able to develop and update training materials to ensure staff competency and consistency, maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders while managing guest recovery scenarios effectively
  • The candidates should be able to apply knowledge of OH&S and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment in the housekeeping department, perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Lodging
