Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience leading operational initiatives, such as operational programs and service delivery, operational excellence initiatives, and/or process improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to deal with ambiguity and effectively lead change and innovation, be inclusive leaders with the ability to lead and develop others
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a related degree and at least 8 years of progressively senior experience leading equity, diversity, and inclusion, Anti-Racism, and/or Reconciliation initiatives, with at least 5 years of experience leading and supervising a diverse team
- The candidates should have experience leading staff within an equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging framework
- The candidates should have lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving group and a demonstrated understanding of the experiences of equity-deserving groups
- The candidates should demonstrate a commitment to advancing social equity, Anti-Racism, and Reconciliation efforts
- The candidates should possess exceptional strategic leadership skills, political acumen, and the ability to develop collaborative working relationships
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to advance the implementation of the Anti-Racism Strategic Plan (2023-2027) and lead the development of its next phase beyond 2027
- The candidates should be able to provide cross-corporate guidance on applying anti-racism and equity principles in service delivery, ensuring alignment with the City’s commitments to Truth and Reconciliation
- The candidates should be able to ensure strong collaboration with internal areas overseeing Indigenous Relations and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
- The candidates should be able to lead the review of internal policies, processes, and practices to ensure the integration of anti-racism and equity principles, while maintaining the efficient operation of City programs and services
- The candidates should be able to oversee community partnerships and identify collaboration opportunities to advance multiple corporate priorities and initiatives
- The candidates should be able to collaborate closely with partner organizations advancing similar areas of work, including the Calgary Police Service
- The candidates should be able to provide non-positional leadership to staff across the corporation who are supporting this work, ensuring alignment with corporate commitments and strategies
