Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree or a 3-year diploma, degree with a post-graduate certificate in Computer Science, Information Technology
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience leading technical teams
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or a similar equivalent certification
- The candidates should have comprehensive knowledge in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) for managing and optimizing cloud-based solutions
- The candidates should have expertise in Splunk for log management, data analysis, and monitoring to ensure system performance and security
- The candidates should have knowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network security protocols
- The candidates should have experience with VmWare or Proxmox Virtual Environment for server virtualization
- The candidates should have extensive knowledge of current IT and communication technology trends, products, and service delivery processes
- The candidates should have in-depth knowledge of end-user computing and educational technologies and the ability to relate technologies to customer and business requirements, ITIL or COBIT service management certifications,
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop the unit’s strategic and operational plans and align resources to deliver on priorities, manage IT operations and services according to industry best practices
- The candidates should be able to identify contributions that technology offers to business objectives, balancing client needs, business requirements, and information technology solutions
- The candidates should be able to be accountable for the usability of services in the pipeline and services destined to become operational in the IT Service Catalogue, select and implement technologies, systems, and processes to deliver support services while developing departmental policies and procedures
- The candidates should be able to foster the development of a client service and service management culture and play an active role in improving interfaces between business, clients, and IT, set standards for the performance of services, developing, monitoring, and improving service processes
- The candidates should be able to provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff, optimize staff and department performance by building professional capacity through effective recruiting, selection, development, mentoring/coaching, workflow/goal setting, and ongoing performance management and evaluation (including discipline, grievances, and terminations)
- The candidates should be able to ensure that the operational assignments of the team are carried out consistently with Sheridan policies and procedures, including recruiting, recording procedures, and other employment-related activities, administration of attendance management, performance management, and training requirements
- The candidates should be able to employ business analysis and design thinking to bridge gaps between business needs, user needs/experiences, and technology or service design, participate in the CAB (Change Advisory Board) to assess and evaluate IT changes and their benefits to the Sheridan community and customers
- The candidates should be able to ensure continual improvement of service provision, promote the consistent delivery of services across all campuses by developing new procedures, support tools, and operational processes to improve services, conduct post-mortems on IT service incidents and problems for continuous improvement
