Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have masters Degree in Applied Health or Social Sciences with concentration in clinical studies
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of three (3) years recent and relevant experience in community-based addiction treatment services

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be advanced in clinical skills and have knowledge of relevant mental health and addiction best practice guidelines
  • The candidates should have an understanding and appreciation of rural culture
  • The candidates should possess an understanding of the broader Health System
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about the Personal Health Information and Protection or Privacy Act (PHIPPA), human resource management, mental health and addiction relevant legislation, employment standards, labour legislation, and the political environment
  • The candidates should have proficiency in financial management, Microsoft Office applications, Outlook Calendar, and other computer software applications
  • The candidates should have clear and concise written and oral communication skills
  • The candidates should be adept at communicating organizational vision and relating interpersonally
  • The candidates should be skilled in planning, leading, negotiating, directing, motivating, and organizing
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with other community partners
  • The candidates should possess the ability to provide strategic leadership in appreciating and responding to best practices, organizational norms, community-based needs, and competing demands
  • The candidates should be capable of teaching and modeling senior practitioner level skills in direct service delivery
  • The candidates should have experience in project/program development involving multiple partnerships with various community stakeholders. This includes research, planning, coordination, and execution of all project-related activities
  • The candidates should be able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting sound judgment with a realistic understanding of issues
  • The candidates should be able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics, and define alternate courses of action. They should be capable of troubleshooting solutions and challenging assumptions

  • The candidates should undergo a satisfactory police record check, including vulnerable sector screening

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide oversight and support to the staff of the Mental Health and Addiction Programs of the CMHA Grey Bruce
  • The candidates should be able to manage programs including intensive case management, counseling, intake and referral, New Directions, Pregnant and Parenting Mothers, Problem Gambling, Concurrent Disorders, and Harm Reduction
  • The candidates should be able to provide strong leadership, budget oversight, and personnel management
  • The candidates should be able to ensure mechanisms are in place for data collection and analysis related to program performance
  • The candidates should be able to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for clients
  • The candidates should be able to act with professionalism and courtesy toward clients, the general public, and other staff members at all times
  • The candidates should be able to work in a manner that preserves, maintains, and respects privacy and confidentiality of client and staff information
  • The candidates should be able to work in a manner that promotes and maintains the reputation of the organization and minimizes the risk of harm and/or liability to the organization
  • The candidates should be able to work in a manner that meets all Health and Safety requirements to ensure a healthy and safe workplace
  • The candidates should be able to work in a manner that complies with the organization’s policies and procedures

  • The candidates should be able to ensure staff health and safety and manage overall staff performance
  • The candidates should be able to identify the need for new services or program modifications and participate in their development, implementation, and evaluation
  • The candidates should be able to serve as a management resource on internal and external committees, providing guidance and support
  • The candidates should be able to provide administrative and clinical leadership within the organization
  • The candidates should be able to participate as a member of the Management Team, providing input on critical issues and carrying out tasks assigned by the Executive Team.
