Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of University degree in planning
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of working independently and as an effective member of a team, and in collaboration with staff from other departments, and ability to complete assignments using sound professional techniques and judgment
  • The candidates should be able to work independently and effectively as a member of a team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a related discipline, technical degree, diploma, or university degree providing a solid background in graphic skills, document creation, and editing, with experience closely related to the duties involved
  • The candidates should demonstrate graphics skills and proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), or other similar graphic software, as well as SharePoint
  • The candidates should demonstrate sound research and analytical abilities and relevant experience
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to self-manage workload, take initiative with work planning, respond to changing priorities, and meet tight timelines
  • The candidates should have strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills, data, research, and analytical skills
  • The candidates should have knowledge of City by-laws, processes and policies

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist a team involved in a major review of the City’s development approvals process, including research, drafting content, developing graphics, maintaining project files and process design
  • The candidates should be able to assist with identifying opportunities to simplify and consolidate regulations and find opportunities to reconcile conflicts between various regulations and policies
  • The candidates should be able to assist with coordination and oversight of graphic design and editing consultants
  • The candidates should be able to create/assist with PowerPoint presentations, information display boards, and associated graphics for public consultation and for inclusion in reports and policy documents
  • The candidates should be able to conduct research, monitor and collect data, develop and maintain spreadsheets/databases as needed to assist with consultation with other City departments and agencies
  • The candidates should be able to support engagement and consultation activities with other City staff and the public
