Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a post-secondary degree in engineering, agriculture or commerce
Experience: Candidates should have at least 5 to 7 years of experience in a Senior Production or Operations Management role

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be effective communicators, leaders, and trainers who can work with all levels of management and non-supervisory employees to execute the responsibilities of this role

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate a significant manufacturing industry background, preferably in steel fabrication
  • The candidates should have experience and an understanding of Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement processes
  • The candidates should be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in decision-making and problem-solving

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to execute operational planning and implement actions to achieve yearly business goals and long-term strategic targets
  • The candidates should be able to chair weekly planning and monitoring sessions between production and product management to ensure on-time customer deliveries
  • The candidates should be able to implement cost-effective control systems to minimize COGS and maximize gross margin
  • The candidates should be able to actively participate in weekly Lean, Safety, Human Resource, and Quality improvement sessions
  • The candidates should be able to provide direction, development, and leadership to management and supervisory staff
  • The candidates should be able to facilitate Lean manufacturing implementation and sustainment, including Kanban, TPM, Flow, Standard Work, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, and Setup Reduction
  • The candidates should be able to develop and maintain positive employee relations while addressing and resolving employee concerns
