Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of completed a university undergraduate degree
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of progressive experience in a research environment, preferably in post-secondary education or government

- The candidates should be skilled in designing and delivering training programs, Â knowledge of emerging Canadian and international research security standards, policies, and programs
- The candidates should have graduate degree with relevant experience Various academic backgrounds, work experience in research security, an academic or funding agency environment, a government national security and geopolitical environment, and/or an open-source intelligence gathering organization
- The candidates should have experience creating analytical and advisory products from diverse information sources and experience in open-source information or intelligence gathering and analysis
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to support researchers and scholars in implementing best practices for safeguarding research and navigating funder and government requirements to protect intellectual property from national security risks
- The candidates should be able to conduct due diligence using open-source research techniques to identify and assess potential risks to research and researchers, recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies and enhancing grantsmanship through strategic advice and substantive review of funding applications
- The candidates should be able to stay informed on international, national, and provincial news, policies, initiatives, and legislative frameworks related to research security, preparing briefs, strategic assessments, and recommendations for academic and research leadership
- The candidates should be able to develop recommendations for internal research security processes, strategies, and practices and plan, develop, and provide university-specific educational, promotional, and training materials covering topics such as research security, risk mitigation, biosecurity, controlled goods, export controls, and research data management
- The candidates should be able to serve as an approachable and trustworthy resource on evolving research security practices and policies, fostering a security-aware research culture
- The candidates should be able to liaise with faculty, staff, and researchers on research security matters, including providing consultation, resolving problems, exchanging information, coordinating materials, and presenting recommendations
- The candidates should be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value-added services, engage with leadership an stakeholders to present and discuss confidential information in a discrete manner
- The candidates should be able to exercise tact and diplomacy to ensure appropriate management of sensitive and complex issues
