Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 1 year experience in a health care setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
  • The candidates should hold current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • The candidates should have current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • The candidates should utilize their communication, computer, and professional skills as they work collaboratively with the supportive multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess, treat, and educate patients, performing oxygen therapy, airway management, ventilator initiation, monitoring, and management
  • The candidates should be able to involved in Level III sleep studies, assist with Bronchoscopies, and provide outpatient procedures while maintaining respiratory equipment
  • The candidates should be able to assess patients (clients, residents), develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor their progress
  • The candidates should be able to be responsible for various diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and interventions
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with various clinical teams and groups to enhance clinical outcomes
  • The candidates should be able to provide training and assist healthcare providers in the use and care of respiratory equipment
  • The candidates should be able to educate patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment, and treatments
