Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Restaurant
Supervision: Cook (general), food and beverage servers, food service counter attendants and food preparers, kitchen and food service helpers, working groups, staff in various areas of responsibility, and more than 20 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Type of service and repair: Electronic cash register
Computer and technology knowledge: Spreadsheet, MS Excel, MS Word, point of sale system, and MS Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be capable of working effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, able to meet tight deadlines, and comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work
  • The candidates should be able to stand and walk for extended periods as required by the job, be prepared for physically demanding tasks, and demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks, even repetitive ones
  • The candidates should be able to handle a large workload and be willing to work overtime when necessary

  • The candidates should prioritize client focus in all interactions and tasks, demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills for effective communication, and possess excellent oral communication abilities

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to establish methods to meet work schedules and supervise and coordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • The candidates should be able to train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, estimate and order ingredients and supplies, and hire food service staff
  • The candidates should be able to ensure food service and quality control, prepare budgets and cost estimates, address customers’ complaints or concerns, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and submit reports, prepare food order summaries for the chef, and supervise and check the assembly of trays and the delivery of food trolleys
  • The candidates should have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres, establish work schedules, recruit, train, and supervise staff, and participate in marketing plans and implementation
  • The candidates should be able to negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices, ensure health and safety regulations are followed, and develop, implement, and analyze budgets
  • The candidates should conduct performance reviews, balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms, provide customer service, negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, and set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
  • The candidates should organize and maintain inventory, be proficient in MS Office, determine the type of services to be offered, and implement operational procedures
  • The candidates should plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations
