Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Electronic cash register and Point of sale system
Credentials: Smart Serve, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, and Food Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced and noisy environment, be capable of performing physically demanding tasks, and be comfortable standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be client-focused, have efficient interpersonal skills and excellent oral communication skills, and be flexible
  • The candidates should take initiative, be organized, demonstrate reliability, and be team players

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to be of legal age to mix and serve alcoholic beverages, enforce provincial or territorial liquor regulations, and describe and advise on wine selection
  • The candidates should be able to order and maintain inventory of wines and glassware, prepare and serve specialty food at customers’ tables, and present bills while accepting various payment methods
  • The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverages
  • The candidates should be able to take orders, relay them to kitchen and bar staff, and serve food and beverages
  • The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, provide customer service, and assist clients or guests with special needs
  • The candidates should be able to clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs, balance cash and record sales, and advise on menu selections
