Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a Business Administration diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience performing administrative and clerical duties, including reception, answering phones, records management, filing and data entry

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada and ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
  • The candidates should be able to travel within the province with possible overnight stays and provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid Class 5F Manitoba Driver’s Licence and experience working with the public and providing customer service to a diverse clientele
  • The candidates should have experience performing accounting transactions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and creating financial reports
  • The candidates should have the ability to coordinate and support processing of financial and program paper and electronic documents
  • The candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) or compatible programs
  • The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team and excellent verbal communication skills, capable of providing information clearly and concisely
  • The candidates should have excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare, edit, and format correspondence accurately and with attention to detail
  • The candidates should have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to understand, explain, and apply regulations, policies, and procedures and experience working with SAP or an equivalent financial management software
  • The candidates should have completed a certificate, or an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide clerical and administrative support to the Spruce Woods Park District and district staff in the Carberry office under the supervision of the Park District Manager
  • The candidates should be able to prepare, check, and complete payroll, as well as handle accounts payable and receivable documents
  • The candidates should be able to maintain files, requisition supplies and services, and assist in the development and management of budgets, cash-flows, and variance explanations
  • The candidates should be able to perform general administrative duties and communicate effectively with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate information, and address complaints
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that programs are delivered within pre-approved parameters and provide professional, business-like, quality customer service to the Department’s clients
