Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of thermography training or certification
Experience: Candidates should have previous maintenance experience and experience working in the hog industry

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work at various heights and in confined spaces, the ability to live and teach the Maple Leaf Leadership Values
  • The candidate should be able to work efficiently with all operations, be a self-directed and motivated team player
  • The candidate should have strong attention to detail and work in a farm atmosphere and available to travel within business operation

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should hold a Journeyman Electrician license in the province of Manitoba, strong organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal
  • The candidate should have excellent computer knowledge, knowledge of health and safety regulations

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to minimize production downtime by responding to production calls promptly
  • The candidate should be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and electrical code specifications accurately, perform maintenance, repairs, and installations of the electrical system infrastructure
  • The candidate should be able to troubleshoot and repair production equipment such as PLCs, VFDs, and environmental controllers
  • The candidate should be able to complete required preventative maintenance schedules, work orders, and equipment tracking tasks
  • The candidate should be able to actively contribute to the preventative maintenance program by submitting recommendations for improvement
  • The candidate should be able to provide on-the-job training on ventilation controls, alarm systems, and other equipment
  • The candidate should be able to conduct facility and equipment audits effectively, document and record all data accurately into the scheduled work order system
