Salary: $23.65 hourly for 35 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning
Work setting: Butcher shop and Supermarket/grocery store

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and Panjabi Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods, be attentive to detail, and be prepared for physically demanding tasks
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads safely, have good hand-eye coordination, and be comfortable working in environments with odours
• The candidates should be able to work in cold or refrigerated conditions

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be flexible in adapting to different responsibilities, accurate, have good judgment in decision-making, and be well-organized in managing tasks efficiently
• The candidates should be strong team players

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, cut carcasses, sides, and quarters, and prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers
• The candidates should be able to cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, wrap and package prepared meats, and remove bones from meat
• The candidates should be able to weigh meats for sale, cut poultry into parts, and price meat products
• The candidates should be able to clean and prepare fish and shellfish, cut fish into steaks and fillets, and sell meats to customers
• The candidates should be able to grind meats, supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers, and train meat cutters
• The candidates should be able to prepare special orders and prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
