Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a one-year certificate in Legal Administration, Legal Assistant, or Criminology
Experience: Candidates should have one year of related experience in Legal Administration
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have plus or an equivalent combination of education and experience 1 year of education for 1 year of experience and vice versa
- The candidates should have experience working with Microsoft Office and Adobe Professional
- The candidates should have experience in a legal administrative role within an office environment, experience working with JOIN, PRISM, and Criminal E-file
- The candidates should have experience in a legal administrative role specializing in Criminal Law
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide central support services to Crown Prosecutors and staff within the guidelines established by the ACPS
- The candidates should be able to process disclosure files by scanning materials, ingesting electronic documents, and conducting quality control reviews
- The candidates should be able to respond to inquiries received through various communication formats
- The candidates should be able to assess the sensitivity of information in police reports and statements to determine necessary redactions
- The candidates should be able to liaise with internal parties and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth processing of legal files
- The candidates should be able to maintain electronic legal files and ensure accurate records management
- The candidates should be able to complete and process necessary documentation for court proceedings
- The candidates should be able to perform administrative duties to support Branch goals and objectives
- The candidates should be able to handle highly sensitive and confidential information, including graphic material, with professionalism and discretion, work independently within the disclosure team to ensure compliance with Crown disclosure obligations under the law
- The candidates should be able to maintain extensive contact with prosecutors, paralegals, and legal assistants involved in the criminal prosecution process, demonstrate strong accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks
