Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years of experience in an Ore Processing Mill
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have accreditation in basic Mill common core modules operate heavy mobile equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform heavy lifting, work at heights and be self-motivated
- The candidates should be able to work in various workplace conditions, including heat, cold, dust, noise, wet, and chemical environments and be capable of making decisions with minimal supervision
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of mill settings and related equipment such as ball mills, pumps, conveyors, and crushers
- The candidates should have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical functions, wear respiratory protection
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to ensure all workers comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants, and all other applicable government standards and regulations
- The candidates should be able to adhere to and enforce all safety and environmental considerations
- The candidates should be able to adhere to and enforce the internal responsibility system and Five Point Safety System
- The candidates should be able to ensure that any damaged or unsafe equipment, or any machine with an inoperative protection system, is not used and removed from operations until made safe
- The candidates should be able to assist or participate in daily safety meetings, follow up on housekeeping
- The candidates should be able to maintain the working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, perform all other activities entrusted by the immediate supervisor
