Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should work with minimal supervision and under pressure while maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • The candidates should assist with training staff in park operations
  • The candidates should have group leadership skills to provide direction to clerical and gate staff by assigning work, training, and monitoring performance
  • The candidates should have skills to organize work, set priorities, and complete work in a timely and efficient manner

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid class ‘G’ driver’s license or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario
  • The candidates should have knowledge/ability in administrative processes, protocols, and procedures
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of computers and software such as word processing programs, spreadsheets, databases, electronic mail, and the internet
  • The candidates should have knowledge of budgeting, work planning, and mathematical/cash handling practices
  • The candidates should interpret and apply payroll policies and procedures to prepare and process documents for new and returning staff, prepare timesheets to ensure entitlement, and calculate seniority
  • The candidates should have proven interpersonal skills, tact, discretion, customer service and communication skills and judgment to deal effectively with the public, ministry officials, and staff

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to perform a variety of administrative, financial, and clerical tasks to support the Park Superintendent and a multi-disciplinary parks team. This includes preparing correspondence, assisting in the preparation of revenue forecasts and work plans, and monitoring the budget and expenditures
  • The candidates should be able to provide day-to-day group leadership to park attendants, create correspondence, schedules, reports, and use various computerized systems to ensure the continual operation of the park
  • The candidates should be able to provide customer service to internal and external clients and oversee the administration, registration, and revenue processing functions in a fast-paced environment
