Régie de l’aqueduc intermunicipale du Bas-Richelieu based in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, QC  is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Accountant. Régie de l’aqueduc intermunicipale du Bas-Richelieu is a pivotal organization overseeing the intermunicipal water supply system. Our mandate involves maintenance, upgrades, and efficient operation of the aqueduct network, prioritizing the well-being of the communities it serves. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $40,000 to $60,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 30 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Own transportation

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates should have completed college, CEGEP, or another non-university certificate or diploma program from 1 to 2 years, or possess equivalent experience or knowledge in public administration and accounting
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be accurate, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and demonstrate good judgment
  • The candidates should have a strong client focus, be organized, and be a team player
  • The candidates should exhibit dependability and have the ability to multitask

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal control, review and examine financial services and institutions for regulatory compliance, and oversee payroll administration
  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports, audit findings, financial statements, and reports, and analyze financial documents and reports
  • The candidates should be able to keep financial records, establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
