Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Bachelor’s degree with a focus on computer science or business Administration with a strong quantitative background
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years progressively work experience with technical skills in the field of computer systems, management, and system design

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be adept at systems thinking and problem-solving and ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations
  • The candidates should have the ability to manage work and resources in a changing and often unpredictable environment, identifying options and finding solutions in response to urgent and immediate  and occasionally conflicting  requests from stakeholders

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have experience in mapping suitable analytic solutions to ensure required performance data can be reliably tracked and reported and experience in admissions and in student services and experience in Admissions systems (ROSI and Salesforce) and using CRM systems, enterprise databases, and document management systems
  • The candidates should have demonstrated progressive university admissions experience with an excellent and thorough understanding of higher education systems and policies worldwide, and a similarly thorough understanding of university systems and policies as they relate to the admission of graduate students and demonstrated experience managing in a unionized environment and public speaking or staff training
  • The candidates should have experience with statistical analysis software such as Stata, SPSS, R, R-Studio, SQL, VBA, Python, and proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and demonstrated commitment to diversity issues and strong leadership skills and possess detailed knowledge of ROSI or similar systems
  • The candidates should demonstrate interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills and possess strong communication and presentation skills and managing multiple complex projects simultaneously and excellent analytical and conceptual thinking abilities and thorough understanding of the business processes and functions related to higher education, preferably admissions, enrollment, financial aid, and awards
  • The candidates should have knowledge of post-secondary education programs and admission requirements and proficient in MS Office and administrative software and familiar with business intelligence structures
  • The candidates should be extremely agile in responding to changes in application and acceptance rates, amended enrollment targets, and new programs, with the ability to understand and consider immediately all the implications internally and for all divisions with the changes
  • The candidates should have the ability to persuade stakeholders to amend requirements where some concession would facilitate the meeting of broader university objectives, and similarly, have the ability to see where opportunities for one or more stakeholders can lead to benefits for others
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and develop good working relationships with staff, senior university administrators, and external clients and advanced knowledge of research and best practices in post-secondary admissions and enrollment management
  • The candidates should have the ability to manage emotionally charged situations providing advice or dealing with issues involving upset or agitated students or members of the public calmly and professionally and team-building and conflict management skills and numerical accuracy and comfort in handling calculations and statistics
  • The candidates should have the ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature and superior organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills and knowledge of university policies and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to work closely with the IT department to integrate and enhance the use of the Customer Relationship Management system with the recruitment, admissions, and awards process
  • The candidates should be able to oversee a team dedicated to delivering reliable and timely high-level qualitative and quantitative data reporting and analytics and involve themselves with external graduate education organizations
  • The candidates should be able to develop short and long-term strategies aimed at providing stakeholders with robust data analyses and reporting and support strategic planning, policy formulation, and decision-making processes within the Graduate Programs
  • The candidates should be able to establish a framework for assessing the success of student data and analysis projects and  enable stakeholders to make informed decisions based on student data
  • The candidates should be able to ensure alignment with the mission and objectives of Rotman’s Graduate Programs
  • The candidates should be able to provide strategic direction and guidance, contributing to the continuous improvement and effectiveness of data-driven decision-making processes across all nine programs
  • The candidates should be able to proactively address bias in the admissions process and promote an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students and participate in admission reviews and interviews and support continuous improvement in admissions processes
  • The candidates should be able to review admission criteria regularly and train admission and recruitment staff and engage with academic, alumni, and EDIO stakeholders and standardize processes
