Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a high school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed the Basic Radiological Technician/Lab Clerk training program or be willing to enroll in and complete the program within three years of initial hire

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have acquire within a reasonable timeframe and remain current with WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods training, and other continuing competency education or certifications as deemed necessary by the employee

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to enable the provision of high-quality, consistent, and cost-effective x-ray, cardiology, and laboratory services in Nunavut communities
  • The candidates should be able to support health care professionals by providing diagnostic services required for patient care
  • The candidates should be able to perform basic x-ray procedures within the Basic Radiological Technician scope of practice, following territorial and national standards for performance and safety and provide radiological services within the health centre
  • The candidates should be able to perform laboratory clerk responsibilities and provide clerical support to diagnostic services for effective administration
  • The candidates should be able to conduct electrocardiogram (ECG) and holter monitor services based on physician or nurse practitioner referrals
