Work Hours: 35 hours per week

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social work, counselling or other university degree relevant to the practice of counselling and psychotherapy from a recognized institution
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be a member in good standing of a Professional College (OCSWSSW or CRPO) or in the process of registration
  • The candidates should have experience and practice in counselling and/or psychotherapy
  • The candidates should possess an in-depth understanding of mental health issues
  • The candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of psychosocial assessment and counseling techniques
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to handle crises effectively
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about the mental health community resources available
  • The candidates should be committed to working cooperatively with clients and members of the interdisciplinary team
  • The candidates should be open to the customs and habits of other cultures
  • The candidates should have excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should have knowledge and ability to use basic computer software
  • The candidates should have excellent knowledge of oral and written French and English
  • The candidates should be willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients
  • The candidates should have access to a motor vehicle and hold a valid Ontario driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide individual and/or group assessment and intervention services to adult clients
  • The candidates should be able to develop an intervention plan with the client according to his/her needs
  • The candidates should be able to participate in case discussions and service planning with internal and external partners
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the design and implementation of new programs to meet the clients’ needs in the community, including needs assessment, promotion, and client recruitment
  • The candidates should be able to develop and facilitate awareness, prevention, and intervention groups and workshops for adults and seniors, as well as recruit participants
  • The candidates should be able to organize activities aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues among adults and seniors
  • The candidates should be able to participate, as appropriate, in internal and community initiatives and committees aimed at improving the quality of life of clients with mental health issues
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the development and application of intervention models that ensure quality services, using recognized clinical approaches
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with community agencies to improve access to appropriate services in a timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to promote the overall development of mental health for the Francophone community
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the Volunteer Program Coordinator when required
  • The candidates should be able to prepare reports, maintain records, and program statistics
  • The candidates should be able to participate in team meetings, staff meetings, and other relevant meetings
  • The candidates should be able to participate in the clinical supervision program, including individual and/or group sessions
  • The candidates should be able to perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
