Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s Degree in Social Work/Counselling Psychology or relevant field
Experience: Candidates should have minimum two years related experience in providing counselling services to youth and their families and case management

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have availability and ability to work with flexibility and comfortability in working at various locations which may involve local travel
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to assess the need for multi-disciplinary support or other resources
  • The candidates should demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills both autonomously and in a team

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have membership in good standing with a college authorized to practice Psychotherapy, RP’s grand-parented into CRPO
  • The candidates should have experience delivering family counselling services using a Collaborative approach and a systemic perspective and Knowledge of mental health issues in adolescents
  • The candidates should possess knowledge of recognized therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and capacity to work using a DBT approach
  • The candidates should demonstrate computer skills and have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to adhere to Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) system requirements and adhere to Feedback Informed Treatment principles and requirements
  • The candidates should be able to deliver individual, family, group, intensive services to clients of the agency in line with program demands and perform case management functions, which may include using an integrated plan of care process
  • The candidates should be able to complete an approved screening tool with clients and assess client need for and recommend when appropriate additional resources or multi-disciplinary support for the client
  • The candidates should be able to support clients to identify counseling goals and strategies for goal achievement and utilize recognized interventions to support clients in the achievement of established goals
  • The candidates should be able to advocate with and on behalf of clients and attend and participate in individual supervision and peer group supervision
  • The candidates should be able to participate in training to ensure ongoing development of skills and abilities, including YSB required training
  • The candidates should be able to ensure both electronic and physical client files remain current within established guidelines/policies and procedures and meet standards defined in Youth and Family Counselling Services Procedural Manual/Policy and Procedures Manual
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to program and services development and evaluation and ensure the timely submission of all administrative work in accordance with YSB practices
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate and network with community agencies as appropriate and follow safe work practices as established by the Bureau and the program and ensure familiarity with all pertinent legislation
