Canada Border Services Agency – National Organization and Classification is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Casual Inventory. The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) is known as a complex and highly operational 24/7 organization which provides clearance, control and examination services for travellers, importers and exporters, at close to 1,200 service points, including land border offices, international mail processing centres, airports, sufferance warehouses, and a number of other service locations. We are working at modernizing the management and organizational structures to better guide and support how its frontline staff deliver services. Our changes include a wide-ranging set of initiatives. In all, we work to provide the different required clearance services, with guidance, for different people for people all over Canada. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The vacancies refer to full time or casual/temporary employment. The shifts the candidate has to work are yet to be determined. The candidates are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As the positions will become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
This intake is a continuous inventory to create and maintain an inventory for future casual opportunities. We always look for talented individuals to join our team, our plan is to select submitted applications from the inventory on an as needed basis until the poster closes.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of various languages.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed.
Note 1: The candidates who do not possess the education level prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience.
Note 2: The candidate must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing PE positions and positions in the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions and Indian Oil and Gas Canada that are equivalent to PE positions.
Note 3: The above notes also applies to persons appointed or deployed, for an indeterminate period, to PE positions after that date as the result of staffing transactions started before October 1, 1999.
Note 4: This position is equivalent to PE positions that meet the Treasury Board definition for the PE occupational group.
Note 5: The course of Specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.
Note 6: The candidate must have an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard.
Note 7: With this, whenever the minimum education standard is met through this alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and candidates must be re-assessed for future appointments or deployments where the manager has decided to use this alternative.

- The candidate should have experience in working in an operational classification environment.
- The candidate should have experience in working in a classification policy centre/corporate environment.
- The candidate should have experience providing advice and guidance to managers involving the interpretation and application of legislation, policies, guidelines and procedures governing classification.
- The candidate should have experience in providing organizational design services.
- The candidate should have experience in mentoring or coaching junior employees in classification.
- The candidate should have experience in chairing Grievance Committees and writing grievance reports.
- The candidate should be able to provide a reliable security status clearance
