Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have three (3) years of experience in the role of nurse practitioner, community health nurse, nurse in charge, emergency room nurse, or critical care

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have at least one year of experience in training in an adult learning setting, new nurse orientation program, internship, or mentoring programs
  • The candidate should be eligible to register with RNANTNU
  • The candidate should have a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check, is required

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to promote quality, culturally safe nursing practice, continuous quality improvement initiatives, optimal health outcomes, and positive patient healthcare experiences as the Clinical Nurse Educator
  • The candidate should play a critical role in promoting quality nursing services by assisting nurses in acquiring the professional competencies required to succeed in their nursing role
  • The candidate should be responsible for assessing competencies, designing learning plans, and supporting professional development activities
  • The candidate should coordinate and deliver orientation, education, and training sessions for Nurses working in a variety of roles throughout Nunavut
  • The candidate should be able to promote equitable healthcare services throughout the territory by ensuring high clinical standards are met by nurses delivering those services as the Clinical Nurse Educator
  • The candidate, in collaboration with the nursing education team, should have the ability to increase patient satisfaction, increase public confidence in the healthcare system, and impact the health and well-being of Nunavummiut through the development and maintenance of a competent nursing workforce
