Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Post secondary degree in Sustainability, Environmental Sciences, Communications, Marketing and Public Relations
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional work experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be self starters who can anticipate needs and work independently the ability and willingness to travel
- The candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, capable of working independently and in team environments with people at all levels
- The candidates should have the ability to work in diverse cultures with tact, savvy, and an understanding of differences in business environments
- The candidates should demonstrate a commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner and adaptable to changing situations and priorities
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a proven track record of developing and sustaining relationships with Indigenous community leaders, members, and their advisors
- The candidates should have experience working with First Nations in remote communities and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The candidates should demonstrate outstanding decision-making skills, showing a strategic and objective approach to challenges and opportunities
- The candidates should be able to communicate complex issues effectively to people of diverse backgrounds
- The candidates should have experience implementing mining industry Impact and Benefit Agreements (IBAs) and strong proficiency in MS Office applications
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to engage with local First Nations and community members and coordinate site visits with stakeholders
- The candidates should be able to meet and collaborate with local community representatives and council
- The candidates should be able to coordinate, lead, and document all community meetings and commitments
- The candidates should be able to coordinate with other Project functional areas to ensure Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) commitments are implemented, tracked, and reported upon
- The candidates should be able to ensure that Provincial and Federal licensing and permitting commitments regarding communities and First Nations are tracked and met
- The candidates should be able to work with Project technical leads and the Training Coordinator to ensure Project documentation and training initiatives are culturally aligned
- The candidates should be able to work with the Environmental Manager to deliver environmental studies, management plans, and permits that are aligned with our IBA(s) and Licensing conditions
- The candidates should be able to lead the Project’s implementation of Alamos’ Sustainability Performance Management Framework, specifically all community-related standards including but not limited to stakeholder identification and mapping, community engagement, community development, and community feedback mechanisms
