Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completed Grade 12 or possess an equivalent qualification
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years’ directly related experience in the enforcement of municipal bylaws or clinical experience working in crisis response and homeless outreach
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to walk and patrol for extended periods
- The candidates should possess the physical fitness necessary for responding to emergencies
- The candidates should have the capability to lift and carry safety equipment as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed Grade 12 or possess an equivalent qualification
- The candidates should have completed Bylaw Compliance, Enforcement, and Investigative Skills 1 and 2 from the Justice Institute of BC
- The candidates should hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide municipal supports and responses to the community and vulnerable citizens on issues including public disorder, homelessness, addictions, and mental health challenges
- The incumbents should be able to conduct highly visible day and nighttime patrols, including bike patrols, throughout the community with an emphasis on the downtown area. This involves extensive contact and liaison with the business community, first responders, public safety, service organizations, and unsheltered citizens
