Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to assist in project planning, proposals, standard audit procedures, and conducting overt, covert, and other specialized departmental initiatives
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to university degree in a related discipline or possess a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
- The candidates should have comprehensive knowledge of court administration procedures and the court system
- The candidates should have working knowledge of law enforcement terminology and related processes Crown Briefs, subpoenas, summonses
- The candidates should have sound knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment, possess effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to interact with individuals at various organizational levels
- The candidates should have strong organizational skills and the ability to compile and assemble information, be computer literate with proficiency in software applications related to the work
- The candidates should have or rapidly acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Human Rights Code and related orders, including disability accommodation and accessibility requirements for passengers and employees
- The candidates should be able to participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program, provide administrative support to the Head by compiling and assembling statistical documentation as required (departmental, board, and CEO reports)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide administrative, legal, and performance analytics support to the Revenue Protection Department, receive and process all court-related documentation
- The candidates should be able to act as Commissioner of Oaths for swearing affidavits and legal documents
- The candidates should be able to maintain databases and hard-copy records for case tracking, evidence handling, and court notifications, supervise, plan, and direct the work of the Court Filing Clerk
- The candidates should be able to train and mentor subordinate staff and complete Employee Performance Appraisals, process all charges laid under TTC By-law No. 1 and Provincial Offences through computerized databases
- The candidates should be able to coordinate the service of Part I and Part III Provincial Offence Notices (PON) and ensure timely filing, receive and review disclosure requests, screen and redact information per legislation and case law
- The candidates should be able to provide administrative support to TTC Prosecutors, prepare daily dockets, and organize relevant material, track and notify TTC witnesses, including Special Constables, Fare Inspectors, and external witnesses, for court appearances
- The candidates should be able to liaise with Toronto Police Services, Provincial Court Offices, and other organizations for documentation transfer, respond to general inquiries and refer matters to appropriate staff, perform related duties
