Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of three year community college diploma in landscape design or CET
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years of related experience working in Landscape Architecture
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have a demonstrated willingness to learn and a dedication to participating in a team-oriented environment
- The candidates should have the ability to work independently, be self-starters, and take initiative when given tasks
- The candidates should have the ability to effectively manage and provide direction to Consultants and Contractors
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess in a related field such as Civil Engineering or Architecture, a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA), with progressive experience in design and construction projects in the private sector or advanced experience in a municipal setting
- The candidates should have membership (or be working towards membership) with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) or OACETT as a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- The candidates should have strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing demands and priorities, strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills within a multi-functional and collaborative team environment
- The candidates should have experience in planning and facilitating community information sessions and workshops
- The candidates should have experience working on and delivering municipal park and playground projects be proficient in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Adobe Illustrator
- The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license in good standing during the course of employment and have access to a personal vehicle
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide project management for various projects, including playground redevelopments, new park design and development, trail construction or rehabilitation, low-impact development, and naturalized landscape plantings
- The candidates should be able to oversee sports field and lighting projects, as well as other unique projects designed in-house or through consultants
- The candidates should be able to organize and assist with public consultations to gather community input and feedback
- The candidates should be able to assist with maintaining the park inventory and updating related GIS databases, provide support to the Design and Construction Teams as
