Garderie Brin D’amour Inc based in Laval, QC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Daycare Teacher. Garderie Brin D’amour Inc warmly welcomes children to the educational childcare service. We offer children a safe, healthy, fun, dynamic environment conducive to discovery and learning in a residential area with an outdoor playground. We work with taking well-being of all children as important and taking care of everyone is our only objective, all while promoting play as an essential means of learning. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $17.00 to $25.00 per hour (to be negotiated) for 35 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time
Location: 4709 Bd Sainte Rose, Laval, QC, H7R 1Z8
Shifts: Day, 08:30 to 16:30
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking
Work Setting: Day care centre or nursery school
Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as college/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates need an experience of 3-5 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), First Aid Certificate
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Vulnerable sector check

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be someone who can be dependent on and have an efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and be someone who can be relied on
  • The candidate should be a team player and work with values and ethics

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers and also supervise staff, trainees or volunteers
  • The candidate should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest and also assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • The candidate should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts and also provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • The candidate should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits and also maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidate should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods and also submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • The candidate should be able to discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and have the knowledge of Day Nurseries Act
  • The candidate should have the knowledge of licensing regulations and also be able to establish guidelines for behaviour
  • The candidate should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members and also attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
  • The candidate should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children and also plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
  • The candidate should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours and also supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
