Target audience:
Infant (3 months – 11 months)

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 months

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking
  • The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks that are physically demanding, with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and should have good manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, and excellent written communication
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, interpersonal awareness, good judgment, and reliability
  • The candidates should be a team player who values ethics

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers with care and attention
  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children effectively
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest engagingly
  • The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children adeptly
  • The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts engagingly
  • The candidates should be able to provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity effectively
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits skillfully
  • The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods appropriately
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors accurately
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors comprehensively
  • The candidates should be able to discuss the progress and problems of children at staff meetings collaboratively
  • The candidates should have knowledge of Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations
  • The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behavior effectively
  • The candidates should be able to assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members appropriately
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children adeptly
  • The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children effectively
