Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed a university degree in computer science, computer engineering
Experience: Candidates should have minimum two years experience in Angular and REST development

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should work in a hybrid environment with onsite requirements at a Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time or two days per week
• The candidates should work Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with 7.5-hour workdays
• The candidates should be willing to travel to the Ottawa office at 2540 Lancaster Rd quarterly for in-person team meetings and as required if located outside of Ottawa

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should have successfully and training in database management systems, operating systems, and network and post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution
• The candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in agile development and designing business applications in supply chain, pharmaceutical, biologics, or similar industries, with expertise in user experience design and customer service management
• The candidates should be highly skilled in object-oriented design, Java programming, building responsive web interfaces Angular, deploying applications on web application servers, and relational database modeling design
• The candidates should have experience collaborating with subject matter experts and business partners to develop robust technical solutions that drive business outcomes and deliver exemplary user experiences and the ability to use Quickfind and VanMap

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to utilize modern programming and web technologies/frameworks such as Angular, CSS, SQL, Object-Oriented Design, REST web microservices (built in Java), Drupal, SharePoint, PowerApps, Office 365, Azure, and Agile methodologies to collaboratively develop innovative applications in conjunction with other IT business systems
• The candidates should be able to apply extensive experience in software development and IT systems to manage database modeling design, queries, test data preparation, and program and system testing, while providing exceptional support and maintenance for existing systems
• The candidates should be able to continuously assess business and user needs by conducting in-depth technology assessments and analysis to identify opportunities for leveraging both existing and innovative technology solutions
• The candidates should be able to lead and manage collaborative teams, effectively handling project management responsibilities while providing mentorship and coaching to junior software developers and business systems analysts, including direct supervision of day-to-day activities
• The candidates should be able to engage in insightful discussions with internal business partners and IT service groups, utilizing Agile software development methodologies to drive new system development initiatives and enhance existing systems
