Work setting: Child care centre, Urban area, Kindergarten, Before and after school programs, Day care centre or nursery school
Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Target audience: Infant (3 months – 11 months)
Credentials: Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, Child welfare check, Bondable, Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks efficiently
- The candidates should be physically fit for tasks that are demanding
- The candidates should demonstrate meticulous attention to detail
- The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
- The candidates should be able to perform bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should exhibit punctuality in their work and demonstrate dependability in fulfilling job responsibilities
- The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, excel in both oral and written communication, and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to various situations
- The candidates should have interpersonal awareness in their interactions and exercise good judgment in decision-making
- The candidates should be reliable in meeting commitments and deadlines, be team players capable of collaborating effectively with others, and uphold strong values and ethics in their professional conduct
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and order supplies and equipment
- The candidates should be able to support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the development of children, assist in keeping records, and engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and crafts
- The candidates should be able to provide opportunities for children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity, guide and assist children in developing proper habits, and maintain daycare equipment while assisting in housekeeping and cooking duties
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods, observe children for signs of potential issues, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, and have knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act and licensing regulations
- The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behavior, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discuss progress or problems with parents and staff members, and attend staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
