CEFA Early Learning based in Vancouver, BC is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Early childhood educator (E.C.E.). CEFA Early Learning was established in 1998 and is Canada’s leading private school for children ages one to five. Our proprietary, award-winning curriculum is based on the latest research in child and brain development and helps get children ready for kindergarten. Salary: $19.00 hourly for 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Permanent employment
Location: 2946 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC, V5N 4C9
Shifts: Day, Evening and Morning
Security and safety: Criminal record should checked and medical exam required
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation required

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to perform repetitive tasks and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
  • The candidate should be physically strong and also a combination of sitting, standing, walking

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment
  • The candidate should be reliable and also a team player
  • The candidate should have interpersonal awareness

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity and also guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • The candidate should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor and also establish guidelines for behaviour
  • The candidate should be able to assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members and also establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
