Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Experience with special needs children: Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD)
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, lead activities, and encourage creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records, maintain daycare equipment, and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
- The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, submit written observations, establish guidelines for behavior, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, attend staff meetings, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours, and supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
